Emailing corresponding authors #358

Open ljwh2 opened 3 years ago

ljwh2 commented 3 years ago

The GWAS Catalog needs to promote data submission to all corresponding authors of publications that do not currently have summary statistics. An automated email should be sent to all corresponding authors of publications that do not currently have summary statistics, soliciting submission of summary statistics.

UAT criteria

For all newly released publications:

  1. Publication is released in the Catalog (ie available in the UI).
  2. Upon release of the publication, an email is generated including the citation information (First author, title, journal, publication date) and sent to the corresponding author(s) of the publication
  3. Only one email is sent per publication (regardless of the number of studies)
  4. If additional studies are created for the publication at a later date, no further emails are sent
  5. If the publication is unpublished and republished in the Catalog, no further emails are sent

For publications already publicly available in the Catalog:

  1. In batches according to publication date, an email is generated for each publication without summary statistics, including the citation information (First author, title, journal, publication date) and sent to the corresponding author(s) of the publication.

Text of the email needs specifying by Laura and/or Annalisa. Frequency and size of batch emails needs specifying.

It's important to send emails also for targeted/exome and sequencing papers - not only g-was: no genotyping technology filter.

@buniello agree, should be for all publications in Catalog
