Unsure if this is already done but xclim dev team is currently implementing a number of quality control checks in a simple to use submodule: https://github.com/Ouranosinc/xclim/issues/65

And is close to initial release via: https://github.com/Ouranosinc/xclim/pull/645

If not done already I suggest running the checks on all new ,nc files

we're currently building out checks loosely based off of the ECAD ATBD document (IE: ICCLIM). If there are other quality control indices or checks that interest you, please let us know!
