It would be nice to have a HighlightMode that doesn't include a bouncing animation, in case our UX team doesn't think it fits our product for whatever reason.

I agree to that , it looks very weird for some implementations.

Yes there should be a way to disable it..looks weird if it is in a list

right, in most cases we don't need this animation
