What the hell is slots map? #6

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start installer and select base and IOS
2. Get presented with a "slots map" screen that isn't explained anywhere in 
guides or (nonexistent) readme file
3. ???

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect some explanation (either on screen or in readme file) of what the heck 
this screen is and what to do here. Instead I get a screen full of numbers and 
I'm meant to pick one without any idea what they mean.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 3.1

Please provide any additional information below.
Documentation is important.
