Make sure you have all the correct files in your apps/mplayer_ce folder.

Considering you might not see my other comment now you merged my problem to
this one...

I have all the correct files in the folder. Some people have suggested deleting
smb.conf But with or without it still never loads.

Are you sure? It sounds very much like you are missing loop.avi or
loop-wide.avi.
Both need to be in there, and make sure the folder is named correctly,
'mplayer_ce'.

I'm sure. This is how it looks on the SD:

The file 'config' is missing in the mplayer_ce 0.5 release. When mplayer starts
up,
it will then create that file. If you run from SD card, and have 'lock'ed it
(readonly), it may hang with a black screen and the text: "Loading mplayer ce
0.5"...

Fix:
1) try to enable write to the SD card, and the file is automatically created.
(subsequently, the SD card may be write protected again)

OR

2) create an empty file named 'config' in the mplayer_ce folder.

2. Worked for me so I guess this is solved now. A blank config file gets it to
load.
