Automated update from within WP erases all the custom themes. #56

First let me say Constructor is a great theme!
Is is possible to avoid the following problem with the future versions of
Constructor?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Construct your own theme (Using constructor 0.7.9 in my case).
2. Save it under your own name, description, etc... (there is a new folder
on my server containing the "new" theme)
3. Use the automatic update of WP to upgrade to Constructor 0.8.0 (in my case).
4. My custom theme is gone! The directory in which it was supposed to be is
erased! However, my images are still residing in the "Images" folder.

What version of the ... are you using?
1. Wordpress: 2.9.2
2. Constructor: 0.7.9->0.8.0
3. Browser: FF
4. OS: Windows XP

What URL of your blog(s)?
1. http://

Please provide any additional information below.

Wordpress 2.9.2 allows for automatic upgrade of modules and themes. I do not
use any
special plugin for updates. I just clicked the "automatic upgrade" link that was
offered after clicking "Themes" in the admin section.

It's strange, i see big message on my WP 2.9.2:
"There is a new version of Constructor available. View version 0.8.1 Details
automatic
upgrade unavailable for this theme."

Could be.
However, automatic upgrade was definitely offered to upgrade from 0.7.9 to
0.8.0. And
that was wiping any customized themes.
Since then I did not even check to see if automatic upgrades are offered any
more, I
did them manually.
Let us hope that whatever bug caused that is gone now.
