Can't ungroup categories in one menu item

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. installed 0.8.0 default, Sunrise theme

What version of the ... are you using?
1. Wordpress: 2.9.2
2. Constructor: 0.8.0

What URL of your blog(s)?
1. http://potterywest.com  (I don't have the categories enabled since they
don't look right grouped)

Please provide any additional information below.
I saw other issues regarding this and that it's been fixed, but I am still
have a problem as follows:
In "header", the "group categories in one menu item" is checked by default.
Unchecking it has no effect : categories are still grouped in one menu
item. No idea how to fix the code myself or why it keeps regrouping the items.
