[3.0.1-RC1]Plugin causes VoiceAttack slowdown, then crashes #708

EDDI version in which issue found

Just upgraded from beta-4 and noticed that my VoiceAttack was not responding, sometimes taking ages to acknowledge my speech, then would crash. Ran it standalone and nothing looked out of place. Tried several times with VA and always the same. Reverted to beta-4 and all is well again. I've used every release for months and never had this until today. I am using VA v1.7.0.15beta so it might be that but like I stated previous versions of EDDI have all been fine.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Upgrade to RC1
  2. Run VoiceAttack with EDDI plug-in

Expected

Normal operations

Observed

VA slowdowns and crash

Investigation

Reverted to beta-4, all ok again

I don't have time today to get any debug logging, but hopefully I can do it tomorrow, but wanted to report this as soon as I could.

Thanks for reporting, Taomyn. I'll be happy to take a look at those logs. We haven't seen anything that would give us a reason to suspect VoiceAttack betas would be at fault (and I haven't noticed any slowdowns in VoiceAttack while testing this release). What are the specs on your pc?

@Tkael I took logs for both beta-4 and rc-1. I first run EDDI standalone and closed it, then ran it via the plug-in in VoiceAttack. I've had a hell of time getting the rc-1 log on-line as nothing will accept the large log, not even my PasteBin Pro account, so it's on my cloud temporarily which I hope works for you.

Looks like the logging got away from us a bit. Sorry about that. Please try version rc2? https://github.com/EDCD/EDDI/releases/tag/Release%2F3.0.1-rc2

@Tkael I disabled debugging then upgraded to RC-2 (was still on RC-1). Again started EDDI on its own, logging was quiet looked good. Stopped then started with VoiceAttack, and the log started to get busy again, but probably less than before as I did not re-enable debugging: https://pastebin.com/0EqT2pAK

Alright. We can work on those. In the meantime, how is the stability and responsiveness with rc2?

@Tkael apart from those messages everything seems fine so far, not crashed VA yet, but I need to get into the game properly to be absolutely certain of no further issues.
