Current function is for Intellectual Rights provided as a markdown document to be converted into docbooks markup for formatting. It would be nice if a feature were added to allow a markdown document to be ported into a markdown element in eml, as supported by the newest versions of the schema. This would be consistent with the EDI data portals ability to interpret and render markdown formatting natively. Thus it would have similar features to current function of the methods element. Perhaps this feature should also be implemented for the abstract element, since the data portal is also capable of interpreting and rendering markdown formatting for that element, as well?
