After having several datasets converted, we have some patterns emerging, both for the questions asked and practices. organize these into a set of practices or FAQs.

stashing a slack conversation with will, with lots of fodder for guidelines

Zoom conversation with Will: same CAP dataset has some tables that are purely population data, and do not fit the ecocomDP model. Data are size and stem length of individual creosote (Larrea) plants, collected a the site level. Our decision was to leave this info out of the conversion, but that the abstract should have an additional paragraph saying that more data (population data) can be found in the original dataset.
Another CAP dataset had similar information, but since it was collected at a low level, it could be attached to specific observations as observation_ancillary

@mobb, I've created a dir for practices (/ecocomDP/documentation/practices) and set up a table of contents linking to relevant markdown documents. Please distill your slack conversations with Will (see will_rosenthal_201806.txt above) into practices and add the package ID mentioned here to this .md on misfit data. Thanks!

A set of shared practice docs are underway in Google Drive and will soon be published as vignettes.
