Students are in groups; give groups same base plot but different tasks (e.g. one group needs to add/modify title, subtitle, caption, like move title to left, another group needs to adjust axis breaks, range, etc.), then share out. Hybrid (park take-home, part in-class) assignments:
Students individually create a plot based on question/data prompt. Must bring (non-annotated) code and resulting visualization to class. Students partner up and give their code to their partner, who needs to sketch the resulting plot on paper. Learning Objectives (writing clear code, reading/interpreting code, googling functions when you aren't familiar with what they do)
filling out weekly surveys (see in issue #3) to provide brief feedback
job posting "presentation" (have students sign up for a date at the start of the quarter; must bring in and briefly describe a job posting that involves data visualization (to some degree)
