The only indication that a body has been renamed is that the new body has the same BodyID as the previous body. This is only discovered when someone goes out and discovers it, as Frontier does not always announce these renames.
The previously renamed body can also re-appear when someone submits scans from prior to the rename. e.g. HIP 17125 A 4
was renamed to Pirx
in the game in the Carrier update, and about 50 commanders have submitted scans to EDDN from before June 2020 with the name HIP 17125 A 4
since then, while about 300 commanders have submitted scans to EDDN from after June 2020 with the name Pirx
Had the same in Delphi too but thought it was a glitch as EDSM announced on Discord that it was reindexing at the time,
We need to check them manually and update from the @klightspeed CSV
same for Rhea
Noted, on my to-do list :)
Probably related to #411
When a body in a system has been named, there are occasionally 2 entries for the same body. 1 of the names will remain even after the body has been DSS scanned.
In the example - 'HIP 17125 A 4' is also known as 'Pirx'.
Also note that the probable scan values are different too.
