I am against the idea of using NiCad and Nickle-Metal Hydride batteries because of their requirement of maintenance. Although they are cheaper than the other two, I believe that ease of use is more important than the cost. Between Lion batteries and Li Polymer, I thing Lion batteries are the better choice because it is probably the most familiar and widely used by most people.
