WNDR3800 inaccessible to proletariat #249

I'm attempting to purchase a WNDR3800 so I can use the OpenWireless firmware. And I literally cannot locate it anywhere for a reasonable price.

_$263.59_ from 4 stores <- HAH!

I don't know about everyone else, but my upper limit for a new router is $50. (Dear people living in Silicon Valley: Six-figure salaries are NOT the norm!) Targeting a hard-to-find and prohibitively expensive piece of hardware is not a winning strategy for adopting open wireless in the average person's home.

The launch hardware was driven by the platform CeroWRT was using. The problem with the WNDR 3800 is that is more or less EOL and so getting harder to find. We have started looking into supporting more router models but this will take some time to happen.

In the meantime if you are OK with refurbished WNDR3800s you can get them on amazon for $40.

I think $40 is acceptable for a refurbished model. (The only refurbished one I could find on Google was $109.) Thank you :)

But yes, I do think supporting more router models is a winning strategy.
