Mention encrypted DNS? #308

Open Mikaela opened 4 years ago

https://openwireless.org/#/users currently reads

We do advocate for the use of useful security technologies like HTTPS Everywhere or a VPN.

I think it should also mention DNS-over-TLS or DNS-over-HTTPS somehow as I understand plaintext DNS to be the biggest danger on open WLAN after httpsless connections. I don't have any other link on the subject than Privacytools.io though (disclaimer: I am affiliated with PTIO).

Thanks for the feedback! If you'd like to put together a PR with some short suggested language, I'd be happy to take a look.

Mikaela commented 4 years ago

I don't have ideas on the language (yet), but what is the repository or directory where the texts of openwireless.org are?

jsha commented 4 years ago

Oops, I had assumed the website repo was public, but it looks like it's not. If you want to suggest wording here I'll pass it along to the internal web team for deploy.

Hi @jsha šŸ‘‹šŸ¼ Iā€™m also member of the privacytools.io team and was thinking of wording such as this:

We do advocate for the use of useful security technologies like HTTPS Everywhere, VPNs, and encrypted DNS.
