Enforce pylint #26

Travis is now enforcing pylint. Most of the points have been addressed and some have been disabled for now as they need more changes or I'm unsure about how to properly address them. It's probably best to merge this PR only once all points will have been addressed (edits by maintainers is enabled).

Thanks @enolfc ! @andrea-manzi would you be able to give it a try to confirm it still works? Would be good if we could reproduce your local tests in travis... (hint, hint ;) )
