Change from restricted to open access for network 2C COSEISMIQ #126

Please provide the following information in the content of the issue: I am using Orfeus client to get waveforms using the temporary network 2C belonging to the COSEISMIQ project. On the website I checked the station book and for 2C network thee data are "R" so restricted. Is it possible to open it in order to be able to download the waveforms ?

Usually, changing the restricted status of a network is a political decision.

Restricted data is accessed the easiest using an EIDA token from the EIDA Authentication System (EAS). For further information, please refer to https://geofon.gfz-potsdam.de/waveform/archive/auth/auth-overview.php.

Though, the data for network 2C seems to be hosted at ETH. I.e. if you have access to the ETH VPN you alternatively may access the restricted data directly via FDSN web services falling back to e.g. the obspy client. (In this particular case you won't need an EIDA token.)

This 2C network, as well as companion coeval datasets from the VI and OR network codes archived by SED, have been restricted in error. They are described here: https://doi.org/10.1038/s41597-022-01339-w

The data will be opened soon as is feasible, though please bear with us for a short while, the responsible person is on vacation.

Hello. I would like to download data from the network 4Q (Island) for the COSEISMIQ experiment. However it is said that "No data available for request" wwhe I try to doownload them wwith obspy using client "ETH" . How can I do? thank you Federica Riva

4Q is hosted at GFZ and has open access, so please use a routing client or download data from node "GFZ" directly.
