EMGDBL has no packaging / DKMS support #28

I installed the right debs, but cannot find one that has the code for emgdbl packaged. On my machine (Sony P11z) I do not get backlight control without it. Doing a make in the emgdbl/ source subtree works, but the dkms files are mssing.

You might borrow them from https://launchpad.net/~gma500/+archive/ubuntu/emgd-fix/+build/2753491 https://launchpad.net/~gma500/+archive/emgd110/+files/emgdbl_0.1beta7.tar.gz

ok, didn't know it is really needed anymore. On my Asus netbook backlight works out of the box.

Is it possible to install the built package? It should work if you download https://launchpad.net/~gma500/+archive/ubuntu/emgd-fix/+build/2753491/+files/emgdbl_0.1beta7_all.deb and install it using gdebi or

sudo dpkg -i emgdbl_0.1beta7_all.deb

in your console.

But you are right. There is something different. I can't control backlight via applets, etc, just with keyboard hotkeys. Will test the emgdbl module and when it fixes it addit to the PPA.
