Can you make it work on GalliumOS3.1 #2

This is a good fix,,, and people have asked for the project to be updated (galliumos) but to be fully honest with you, the developer is yet to update and contributors like @mrchromebox who manages the RW_Legacy chromebook script are still making excuses, and nobody can find out how to update gallium, if you make it work on this, it will be shared fully across the galliumos forum, which has a lot of members, check the success people have had, https://github.com/GalliumOS/galliumos-distro/issues/364#issuecomment-1046132585 scroll down from that comment on the link, its working, but we either need to community run gallium (hard) or find a fix that works for it, (hard but medium with help) So can you reach out with me on cassiew@vivaldi.net or this thread if you can help us, thanks

@whyiscassieongithub please stop this BS; I'm working directly with the SoF folks to fix the root of the issue upstream.

This "fix" is never going to be applicable to GalliumOS because GalliumOS is using a much older kernel without SoF support. It uses different drivers, a different Alsa ABI, different everything.

Please stop what bullshit? the developers can easily update it, if it was dead why is the website up, It's like you main people are making us community run this project, I run this as my MAIN DISTRO and im sacrificing sound support with this distro and this has bipnic beaver and 16.04, thats over 4 years old, and 1604. 6 years old

Whats so hard about downloading an xubuntu iso, updating bismuth repositories so it works, and then installing stuff and using uck, it isnt

I'm not sure why you think I'm responsible for GalliumOS' lack of an updated release, or that it's my responsibility to produce one simply because it's wanted. Or that it's appropriate to raise the issue here, on a completely unrelated repo.

I modified the sof-apl-da7219.tplg file. No need to change driver anymore. Just copy the new topology file to /lib/firmware/intel/sof-tplg kernel parameter is the same. Needed!

Look, I'm not part of MrChromeBox's team, and currently you could say I'm actually unrelated. But I will agree with Box on this issue. You need to quit the BS. I'm sure that I as well as many more appreciate your opening of this issue, but don't attack people while doing it. Box is right - galliumos wont get a patch for this because it hasn't been updated in a while and to be honest, it's not looking like there ever will be another update. To answer your question of why the website is still up, I'm sure you can find multiple lingering websites of a long-forgotten era whose owners haven't bothered taking them down just yet. What I'm saying is - if you want something done, do it yourself, and don't criticize others while asking for help. All you'll receive is negativity and you'll most likely be ignored.

Needless to say though, EMLommers, kudos on making a fix! I'm sure you're aware that the community has been looking forwards to this for a long time.
