Could develop functionality to convert rasters to categorical or binary filtered polygons and use them to query OBIS, eg with function rasterToPolygons

Include benchmarks for spatial querying.
Explore accessing data using a bounding box and masking once data have been downloaded
Otherwise, include vector simplification/smoothing capacity
