pull request tutorial with dmitry

some intermediate steps written out for registration_page ticket

Fixed some bugs, rebased and merged with master. However, will not delete the branch as the feature is not fully implemented (but the adding the extra bits and merging with master should be a whole lot easier).

Dmitry, you may want to have a quick look at what I added to master.

By the way, I removed the "pseudo code" for the extra part (checking curator box and on) in master but left it here. I will leave this pull request open for now.
