I noticed eosportal had stopped working. There were two problems:
1) It was using a very slow endpoint that kept timing out, I changed it to the one from https://eosnode.tools/proxy
2) It was using an ancient version of scatter. I upgraded scatter to the current version of scatter-core for maximum compatibility. Just to make sure, I upgraded to the latest version of legacy eosjs as well.

For me locally, it has started working again now.
