Include changes in snow pack in glacier surface mass balance (SMB) term #1519

The LIWG has been discussing for a while a change in the SMB definition so that changes in the snow pack are included in SMB. This can make a difference particularly in the timing of the transient response.

If I remember correctly, the biggest challenge with doing this correctly is how to handle the snow pack with dynamic landunits.
