So, suggestion is to work as follows:

• develop features on branches
• merge them into dev branch when done and test (pull request)
• then merge into main for deploy (pull request)

key usethis functions:

start with

• usethis::pr_init("vignettes")

merge with:

• usethis::pr_push()

then conclude with usethis::pr_finish()
