COR analytics? #64

Following on from a discussion over on the SWEET repo, are there any plans to implement any web/link analytics for COR?

If there were, for example, an umami instance visualizing usage (at a minimum) it may go a long way towards any funding justification.

Haven't looked at the SWEET discucssion.... but there's google analytics in place for COR ... (btw, an open-source alternative looks appealing to me)

Google analytics is set up, once or twice I’ve sent the summary to the list. We should discuss whether/how to make it more visible, and what you’d like to see in the meantime. It would be good if the account had a few more ‘adopters’.

graybeal commented 4 years ago

@carueda are you referring to umami (great name!), or something else?

carueda commented 4 years ago

I meant "open-source" in general terms ... but yes, umami does look like a interesting option and maybe not that hard to put in place, but time is very scarce these days (well, when not). Want to give it a try (or you @lewismc)? ;)

Thanks @carueda & @graybeal. I did not realize GA was set up already (obv). I only included umami as an example because it looked simple; I have not tried setting it up.

Anyway. The reason I logged an issue is this information could be beneficial for the Semantic Harmonization crowd, and perhaps to weight SWEET issues. If GA is actually in place, we may want to have a peek and see...what we can see. :)

As GA is currently set up, I'm closing the issue.
