@RBerkheimer, this sounds cool, and potentially collaborative with the pangeo project that was presented at the ESIP summer meeting, which is using Jupyterhub with xarray and dask on kubernetes to crunch multidimensional science datasets in a scalable way. There is a 3 minute demo of the pangeo project that blew me away, and more details on Matthew Rocklin's blog.
