We have a calibrated site for FATES, that we want to make available for CTSM/CESM users to use. This makes the site easier to use for users that haven't run with FATES previously. And it increases visibility of a FATES site that can be used by everyone. The site is at Barro Colorado Island in the middle of the Panama Canal. Technically it's part of US territory, and is a nature preserve.
The name above is from the convention of using lower case for the site or city name, followed by the country abbreviation in caps.
