Printing issue #187

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Hi and thanks for executing this project. The numeric icons are very useful
as I mark places to visit in a route that I am building.

The reason for this note is that I am having an issue when printing. The
numeric icons are printing on the legend at the bottom of the map, but on the
map itself, they get replaced by a Google marker with a start in it. See
attached PDF.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Manuel

Hello Manuel,

I tried by myself and it does the exact same thing to me...
I don't remember that it happened before : very strange if you want my opinion.

Will check gMaps help forum, to see if it's a bug or something.
At the moment, I can't fix this, it seems OK for my part.

Manuel, some news after some tests I have done.

In Firefox 3.6 (Mac OSX), red pins with star icons are displayed.
In Safari (Mac OSX), the custom icons are displayed correctly in the print
version.

I suggest it is a FF3.6 issue, and I think FF3.5 was printing nicely.
Until FF fix the issue, please try another browser and tell me if you manage to
print
the maps.

Okay...

I found one way that works well on FF and Safari, that work the same way. Still
pretty strange.

1/ center your map on a desired location
2/ "Print" and the popup opens
3/ Do not "Print button" again, instead, do the "CTRL+P" command to print.

Be careful, if you starts with "Print button", then you want to "CTRL+P", it
won't work !
CTRL+P needs to be done first.

Such a pain, give me some feedback with that situation.
