Updating all other files worked flawlessly.
Workaround:
I finally submitted the draft for publication, then created yet another draft version, where I explicitly deleted the file before updating. Then, the upload of the new file from b2drop succeeded. However, this is somewhat cumbersome.
I tried to update an existing file in a new draft of a published data repository (https://b2share.eudat.eu/records/1b97449043954b38b7637ffa4911631f). The file gnss-r.zip is relatively large (1.4 GB), but all options fail:
