Fatal error: Call to undefined method JFactory::getDate()

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.I have tried multiple installs, following directions. Comes up everytime.
2.Problem is arising when i try to link an API key with an account, including 
manually entering it. 
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Can you provide path and query segment URL of faulty page?
example: Fatal error: Call to undefined method JFactory::getDate() in 
/home2/dklclano/public_html/eve/plugins/system/eve/lib/apiplugin.php on line 35

What version of the product are you using? Please provide version of core
component (com_eve) and faulty component (com_...).

Please provide any additional information below. Try turn on joomla debug
mode.

This errors occurs then you using Joomla 1.5.0 or 1.5.1. These versions doesn't 
have this function. So you need upgrade Joomla to the latest stable version - 
1.5.23
