Group Option for Players #32

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I Have in mind it was a good idear to implementet Groups, so you have groups for ppl in a corp to share fittings with the other ppl of the corp without the fits go public. i think it is a good for corporations, alliances and coalitions.

Upload a Fitting -> Click Option to Set it Public or in one grp Like " My Corporation is Cool" -> Only ppls in this Grp Can see the Fitting.

Upload a Fitting - > Click Option to make it Public -> Fit Goes Public to all ppl.

Permissions/security is absolutely a useful feature. Initially, the easiest way to implement this is simply change the public/private toggle to increasing scopes of availability: self-only, corporation, alliance, then public, each level inclusive of the precious. Public fittings can still be viewed by unauthenticated users, but corp/alliance membership will require login and will be pulled via ESI.

Eventually, user-defined permissions groups can be added as an enhancement of this feature, if deemed fit. This feature is already implemented on fleet-up.com, if an example is helpful. I do not necessarily believe that user-defined permissions groups are a critical function.

A late reply from my side but we do have a idea how we are going to implement this:

We are going to save the corporation and alliance the players are part of. With this information we will add a new option to the fits where you can set it to corp/alliance only, then you can select the designated corp/alliance if you are in multiple onces.
