zKill, toxic elitism, and further verifying the legitimacy of fits #44

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I had a look at a few ships that I like to fly and noticed that some of the PvP fits for those ships were really not that great, ranging from simple issues such as bad slot layout, to major issues such as ignoring the inherent characteristics of the hull and bonuses it had.

Upon looking into the kill history of some of the pilots submitting these ships, I noticed that many had little experience in PvP and no experience flying the ship. It could be that they are posting on alts to avoid revealing their main, but putting a 120m ISK warp disruptor on a 35m ISK hull that fights in scram range?

Describe the solution you'd like The Corporation tab features a zKillboard link, but the player pages do not. Allowing the user to opt into having links to the zKillboard pages for their main and their linked characters on their profile page may help legitimise the fits they submit.

Going one step further, linking in to zKillboard's API, you could pull the number of kills a user has had in each ship they are submitted a fit for, e.g. for my character Sticky Mess in the Omen Navy Issue, the following link returns 137 kills:

https://zkillboard.com/api/kills/characterID/446637854/shipTypeID/17709/

If totals were taken for each linked character on an account, and then all added together to give a sum for the account, they could be indicated on the fits the users have been submitted. A fit posted by a player with 100 kills in a ship would be worth more than a fit posted by a player with 5.

In order to help preserve the anonymity of the submitters, an option could be added to the account whereby, when checked, the linked character will be considered in the generation of the total number of kills with a ship, but the actual identity of the characters that made those kills would be kept hidden.

Describe alternatives you've considered Comments and ratings serve this purpose, but the aim of this suggestion is to help visitors verify the legitimacy of players and their fits at a glance.

Potential downsides Reputable PvPers may not register on the site and post their own fits, but other members of the community may look through their losses and post them in their honour. Adding the latter half of my suggestion could cause viable fits to be rated poorly by visitors.

Players that have purchased characters may have false stats due to kills made before they owned the character.

Additional context Don't really want to name and shame.
