EVidence Modeler No Longer Supported or Actively Maintained #91

Please note that EVM is no longer being actively maintained and the author no longer has time or resources available to actively support its use.

Please seek alternatives as necessary, such as GINGER.

Thank you for all your work!

It is sad to see EVM not being actively developed anymore. I took a look at GINGER, and while the results looks good (from the paper), it is much less flexible than EVM. For many of the species we work with, we don't have RNA-seq data, but using GALBA and different datasets with miniprot, we get acceptable results anyhow.

I will continue using EVM as long as it just works for us, and hope that something more flexible than GINGER shows up. (Mikado and minos also seem a bit restrictive).

Again, thank you for EVM.

Sincerely, Ole

Sad to read that! thank you very much @brianjohnhaas and al for all the efforts pushed to make that tool so efficient.
