E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

Just follow what it says, run: dpkg --configure -a to fix it and rerun the command.

Lexank commented 5 years ago

Sorry for the inconvenient, but I had already done it before and didn't solve the problem:

Possible debconf database corruption

The setting for "dictionaries-common/default-wordlist" is missing, but packages providing candidates are installed: "miscfiles".

This may be due to corruption in the debconf database. See "/usr/share/doc/dictionaries-common/README.problems" on "Debconf database corruption".

In this case, running "/usr/share/debconf/fix_db.pl" can help to put the debconf database in a consistent state.

Some questions are likely to be asked after this message in order to leave the dictionaries system in a (provisionally) working state.

pyaada commented 5 years ago

Is there a fix yet. I can use

vncserver

and a vncserver starts whichh can be accessed with vnc viewer.

$ vncserver

New 'localhost:1 ()' desktop is localhost:1

Starting applications specified in /data/data/com.termux/files/home/.vnc/xstartup
Log file is /data/data/com.termux/files/home/.vnc/localhost:1.log

But the installer tries to run

vncserver-start

which results in command not found.

de-apt-xfce4.sh: line 42: vncserver-start: command not found
sujitvasanth commented 5 years ago

Hi. vncserver-start is a very short 3 line script that assigns $HOME and $USER and then has the command vncserver.

You can just install a different remote desktop server of your choice and run it manually...

ghost commented 5 years ago

Is there any fix? I'm getting the exact same bug, but with Kali Linux.

argenestel commented 5 years ago

Yup same here with nethunter. Any solution

Yahhh... Ananyapam7 i have just found the solution..

The tigervnc-server-module is a module for Xorg.

To install the vncserver, you need to install tigervnc-standalone-server

subrata797979 commented 4 years ago

Then re-run vncserver 😊

assuming ur trying to install it on termux , it only works if you use the link on anlinux , install that distro then use for ubuntu wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/EXALAB/AnLinux-Resources/master/Scripts/DesktopEnvironment/Apt/Xfce4/de-apt-xfce4.sh && bash de-apt-xfce4.sh

You can now start vncserver by running vncserver-start

It will ask you to enter a password when first time starting it.

The VNC Server will be started at 127.0.0.1:5901

You can connect to this address with a VNC Viewer you prefer

Connect to this address will open a window with Xfce4 Desktop Environment

Running vncserver-start

To Kill VNC Server just run vncserver-stop

/usr/local/bin/vncserver-start: line 4: vncserver: command not found ┌─[✗]─[root@localhost]─[~] └──╼ #vncserver-start
Please help me Vncserver is not starting

Is there any fix? I'm getting the exact same bug, but with Kali Linux.

I'm having the same here

The repository 'https://dl.bintray.com/grimler/science-packages-24 science Release' does no longer have a Release file. N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default. N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

/usr/local/bin/vncserver-start: line 4: vncserver: command not found root@localhost:~#`

Help Me 😟😟😟

Colkard commented 3 years ago

Hello! I successfuly executed the vncserver-start by downloading manually the files that were missing:

mkdir /root/.vnc
cd /root/.vnc/
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/EXALAB/AnLinux-Resources/master/Scripts/DesktopEnvironment/Apt/Xfce4/xstartup

cd /usr/local/bin/
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/EXALAB/AnLinux-Resources/master/Scripts/DesktopEnvironment/Apt/Xfce4/vncserver-start

cd /usr/local/bin/
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/EXALAB/AnLinux-Resources/master/Scripts/DesktopEnvironment/Apt/Xfce4/vncserver-stop

Then I tried to run the .sh file and it worked ./de-apt-xfce4.sh

I think that if you now run vncserver-start it could work too.

I hope it helps! 😄

PS: when I try to connect to the given ip:port I get the following error: the port on which the computer is listening for a connection could not be contacted Does anyone know how to continue? 😞

root@localhost:~# vncserver-start

New Xtigervnc server 'remote-desktop' on port 5901 for display :1. Use xtigervncviewer -SecurityTypes VncAuth -passwd /root/.vnc/passwd :1 to connect to the VNC server.

                                                            =================== tail /root/.vnc/localhost:5901.log ===================

xrdb: No such file or directory xrdb: can't open file '/root/.Xresources'

Session startup via '/root/.vnc/xstartup' cleanly exited too early (< 3 seconds)!

Maybe try something simple first, e.g., tigervncserver -xstartup /usr/bin/xterm The X session cleanly exited! Killing Xtigervnc process ID 10811... success! root@localhost:~#

I am getting this problem someone help me please

It's not so hard like this you are looking for Same here with Kali Termux , non-root

kali@localhost ~ [1]> vncserver

New Xtigervnc server 'kali:1 (kali)' on port 5901 for display :1. Use xtigervncviewer -SecurityTypes VncAuth -passwd /home/kali/.vnc/passwd :1 to connect to the VNC server.

=================== tail /home/kali/.vnc/kali:5901.log ===================

Session startup via '/home/kali/.vnc/xstartup' cleanly exited too early (< 3 seconds)!

Maybe try something simple first, e.g., tigervncserver -xstartup /usr/bin/xterm The X session cleanly exited! Killing Xtigervnc process ID 20706... success!

It just happened after i did upgrade packages , i have also a backup for 2019 I think and every time i restore it , it works fine , really fine , not any problems or something like that , Anyway There could be a problem with Xfce Or , idk So could be able to fix?

And even (< 3 seconds) = <3 = ❤️ bruh

Yahhh... Ananyapam7 i have just found the solution..

The tigervnc-server-module is a module for Xorg.

To install the vncserver, you need to install tigervnc-standalone-server
