Windows Defender Threat Blocked #9

Open BlakeM2 opened 11 months ago

BlakeM2 commented 11 months ago

When installing "obs-hadowplay-1.1.3-windows-x64-Installer.exe" from the most recent releases Windows Defender detected the .exe as a Trojan:Win32/OffLoader!MTB, and was automatically removed. Downloading the .zip instead of the .exe didn't cause Windows Defender to trigger.

I have seen this before and whilst it's stopped happening on local builds I am getting it on the release download. I'll put a bug in the obs-plugintemplate repo and link back to this.

Okay, from the linked issue, it looks like it's a false positive. Caused by using a generic installer that a lot of malware use. I'll leave this bug open and pinned until it's fixed in the template and I'll potentially remove the installer from the release to avoid any confussion.
