Currently the possible values to symbolize in the data are "on road", "trail" , "dirt trail", and "public transit". The colors used to symbolize these types of route features must read well both on the default basemap (Positron) and satellite imagery. Cycling maps tend to favor green for the ideal path (physically separate from car traffic), blue for on road or on road with a bike lane.

Here is one option using a light blue for "on road" and light yellow green for "trail", both with a dark grey casing:
