Implemented support for reading Resolve .cube files in 8d866b466fa8e7d7d43152a124c58b8d075f16cb.
Hey Nathan! I see that the OCIO maker can now read DaVinci LUTs, which is nice, but I have the opposite problem - I'd like to get the LUTs from LUT Maker (currently .spi1d files) into DaVinci Resolve. Do you have any plans of adding also write support for .cube LUTs?
in at least the latest dev release the .cube format is an output format. I'm not sure in what release it was added.
Writing .cube format has been available since pretty early on, so you should already be able to do that. We don't support writing DaVinci .cube format, but I don't think that should matter: I'm pretty sure DaVinci supports reading standard (non-DaVinci) .cube files as well. (And if they don't, that's baffling given that it's supposed to be a professional tool.)
I'll edit the issue to make it clearer what's already supported in LUT Maker.
LUT Maker currently only supports a small number of LUT formats. We probably don't need to support a large number of formats, since there's likely a subset that are widely supported enough for interoperating with other software. But there may be use-cases that the current supported formats don't cover.
Please leave a comment if you need to export to a LUT format that currently isn't supported. And if you can find a technical specification of the format (which are needed for implementation) even better!
