The ability to login via a web applet of some kind, preferably using SSL, to 
use Alliance remotely.

An API over HTTP could also solve this. That way the web UI would be stand 
alone leaving any web developer / designer the ability to improve web UI.

Transmission for Mac and Linux is designed this way, being a liteweight engine. 
Comes with a user interface but the little engine itself can be installed on 
NAS. Clutch is the name of the Web UI.

This would be very key, as it would allow for integration with headless servers 
and NASes, such as Amahi, FreeNAS and BusyBox.
