Game got desync during online game(chat lagless) #585

Hi there, Sheepluva asked me to report it. I was playing hedgewars online
online normally yesterday morning, than quit the game; and like 6/8h later
gaming was impossible because game was lagging right after match starts. What's
strange, there was lag icon in top left corner but we were able to chat lagless.

We used default themes, default generated map, so there was no DLC.

I didn't know is there any point reporting it as I guess it's a regular problem
I guess. Only docs I can attach are my logs(didn't play any matches
single/multi after that game, I guess).

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium, don't know what other players were
using. Also I remember that I hosted a room, and once a friend did it - same.
We rebooted out PCs, same.

Happened again with same player(sometime there're 3 of us, but both of us the
same, me and Stef).

It happened today again in the morning, a few minutes ago.

I attach both out log files, mine and Stef's.

Guess that's issue is over.

I realized that if I had installed both 0.9.18 and 0.9.19 alpha 3 they share
the same settings directory. I know I can change it but I didn't. I thought
about that when I see the same behaviour in single player game.

I deleted the settings and all is fine now.

Still, it will be good if game suggest deleting config files when there is a
mess in them not allowing players with messed up configs to make online matches
impossible. Guess it needs some investigation.

Still the problem is over, only that I think there should be some prevention in
the game itself to avoid such situations in the future.

Glad you figured it out.

Please feel free to open another issue where you suggest the "reset config dir"
button which could indeed be useful.
