The study is based on warming experiments and contains very few deciduous tree species records from field studies (2 species from 3 sites/studies):

(note that the Salix here are shrubs.)

Here are the relevant studies. All are on seedlings or young saplings.

Thus, this study really isn't very comparable to ours.
