See #61 for discussion of a permalink
We would need to discuss this with iNaturalist first. While it was suggested by the NZ trustees of iNaturalist, the community guidelines prohibit it:
(!) Machine generated observations, identifications and comments. We do not allow machines to generate and post content on iNat with no human oversight curating each piece of content, and any account suspected of doing so is subject to suspension and the removal of the content. Read more about what constitutes machine generated content here.
Users do receive an update when the observation fields are changed. Need to examine this before building a new feature.
When synchronising an observation from iNaturalist to CAMS we are keen to add a comment to the iNaturalist observation that it has been synced.
This comment may include a permalink to the CAMS feature record. If the observation is not part of the Weed Management Aotearoa NZ project, the comment could prompt the user to add the observation to this project to add information about the weed patch. It may also state that the status will be updated when controlled and in future status updates.
This is likely to require an Econet iNaturalist account to be created and authenticated to add the comment.
