CLN: we really don't have a .gitignore??? #1

How did this happen?

Should be fixed asap

Wow, that's embarassing. I'm hopping on it right now. Issue should be closed in 10 minutes.

I usually use the one here https://github.com/github/gitignore/blob/master/Python.gitignore. (this is the one that is included by default when you create a repo for python and tell github to start a gitignore for you)

I can add whatever julia stuff we need, but I don't think that will be much.

Just grabbed one from your NYUclasses repo. We'll have to add the julia stuff to it.
