Crashes when using WP 3.4.2 + #24

When using a newer version fo Wordpress than 3.4.2, the "category images" plugin causes various crashes. Options:

Fix the plugin and bundle it with the theme.
Insert the needed plugin's functionality in the theme itself.
Change the plugin to another one that is more actively maintained.

Finally i've integrated the needed functionalities in functions.php theme file.

I'm suiting the form to the new category system. Now it is not possible to select more than one category. Is this a bug? Should it be possible multiple select?

More than a bug, it was a limitation. If it's easy enough to allow multiple categorization, then go for it!
