Maybe I could break this up and Scott could take Windows
Yeah I've never set it up on windows so Scott would be the best guy for that.
In terms of the other platforms, those docs were written for Mac but work identically in Linux. The only place they differ is in installing the dependencies.
We had originally deferred all the dependencies setup to the geodjango docs - mainly because we didn't think we could do it any better. But given ~ two weeks, we could probably write up some solid start-to-finish docs for all platforms.
KyngChaos/Homebrew for Mac OSGEO4W for Win Apt for ubuntu Puppet for other linux
Broke out into seperate tix for each platform
The sphinx docs to linux are complete and tested on a vanilla ubuntu install. Details here: https://github.com/Ecotrust/madrona/wiki/Ubuntu-vanilla-install-notes
Include documentation on how to setup and run Madrona on Windows and Mac. Maybe a walkthrough of sorts. I recognize that in the Sphinx docs even for Linux it glosses over setting up postgres and other things. We should consider how to handle this, we want to lower barriers to entry where possible and be inclusive of Windows folks in particular. Deployment on IIS under Windows is possible to my knowledge.
