There have been requests to expose the select check boxes to all levels of the hierarchy (e.g. people want to be able to check a box next to "Biological" and get all facets below that).
A secondary related request is to allow more than one box to be checked - at the moment the functionality is behaving as if these were radio buttons (only one choice allowed).
