Determine suitable Chromebook for use with FoodBank.

Chris, Akala, Are the chromebooks to be used to register clients by EHP staff, volunteers? Will there be a need to load any custom application on these notebooks? Any specific requirements in term of battery needs or storage?

Akala-EHP commented 10 years ago

We discussed building a kiosk for clients and volunteers to self check in. If they need assistance, the receptionist or our front desk volunteer will assist them. If we use a kiosk, the Chromebook will be stationary and will most likely stay plugged in.

Also, we are looking to mount Chromebooks in our warehouse and food closet area for client check ins.

Our hope is that we will be able to connect the information from the forms to our Salesforce database.

Clients won't be able to check-in because we don't want to give them access to a page logged into Salesforce. We can produce a page for them to use for checkin, but that will be an upcoming enhancement. We'll still provide a recommendation, but I just wanted to point out that you won't be able to use the Chromebook for this in Phase one.
