[RFC/Discussion] How can ConfTalks improve to help you? #46

ConfTalks is an open source index of already recorded and scheduled development related related conference talks to help you decide if you should go

My initial vision for the project is a talk index that includes upcoming conferences. You are able to select an upcoming conference and will be able to see which of those talks have been given at other conferences and have been recorded and put on YouTube.

You can read more about it in the announcement post on DEV.

I want to hear some ideas / suggestions on how we can improve ConfTalks to make it fulfill its goal of helping you decide wether you want to go to a conference or not.

What are some things you consider when deciding on a conference?

I'd love to hear your comments.

I think it would be helpful to have a way to associate conferences to one another, maybe like having an overarching conference and the associated years for that conference. For example, as someone interested in attending PyCon I would like to see a page that contains info on/talks from all of the past years so I can get a feel for that conference, even if the talks for PyCon 2020 haven't been announced yet.

Also, if I am trying to decide whether to attend it would be helpful to link to the website for the next PyCon and/or see a description with information like the length of the conference and the cost.

πŸ€”It will be great if there is a push notification

@pupubird Thanks for the suggestion! I put it on my to-do list. I can probably use PushPro for this.
