NPC receives effect of COR rolls if in party (even if you're the only member in party), does not if solo

Not sure if this was era behavior or not, but I noticed while doing the Tactics Pearl quest that if I'm in a party, my NPC will receive the effect of COR rolls; if I'm not in a party, they do not. I don't have BRD unlocked but I suspect the same might be true for songs.

Version 30181205_0. Video got a little messed up when concatting them, but you can see that the first roll I do, I'm solo and my NPC does not receive the effect; the second one I'm in a party and she does.
