As the title suggests, when Archaic Ramparts open and close their doors, they are unable to move. They also will stay facing the direction they were in when the animation started. Once the animation is over, they can begin moving again.
This capture shows this behavior. Even when moving back to their origin, this behavior continues as seen here.
