I have noticed we miss game quite a lot after michaels and unusual. Here is an example where east should bid more than 2 spades.

I don't know if you have 2NT as some sort of good raise as well as bidding the openers suit but that would make sense.

You should define the responses to 2N. This is how I play it normally

But you can also use this over 2N
